Resurection day MAT 12:39 But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas: MAT 12:40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. MAT 16:4 A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed. LUK 11:30 For as Jonas was a sign unto the Ninevites, so shall also the Son of man be to this generation. LUK 23:52 This {man} went unto Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. LUK 23:53 And he took it down, and wrapped it in linen, and laid it in a sepulchre that was hewn in stone, wherein never man before was laid. LUK 23:54 And that day was the preparation, and the sabbath drew on. MAT 27:62 Now the next day, that followed the day of the preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees came together unto Pilate, MAT 27:63 Saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet alive, After three days I will rise again. ----- ----------------------------- MAT 27:64 Command therefore that the sepulchre be made sure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night, and steal him away, and say unto the people, He is risen from the dead: so the last error shall be worse than the first. ************************************************* MAT 28:1 In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first {day} of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre. ************************************************* MAR 16:1 And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the {mother} of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him. ************************************************** ************************************************** LUK 23:56 And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the sabbath day according to the commandment. *************************************************** MAT 28:2 And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it. MAT 28:3 His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow: MAT 28:4 And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead {men}. MAT 28:5 And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. MAT 28:6 He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. JOH 20:1 The first {day} of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre. JOH 20:2 Then she runneth, and cometh to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and saith unto them, They have taken away the Lord out of the sepulchre, and we know not where they have laid him. JOH 20:3 Peter therefore went forth, and that other disciple, and came to the sepulchre. JOH 20:4 So they ran both together: and the other disciple did outrun Peter, and came first to the sepulchre. JOH 20:5 And he stooping down, {and looking in}, saw the linen clothes lying; yet went he not in. LUK 24:1 Now upon the first {day} of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain {others} with them. LUK 24:2 And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre. LUK 24:3 And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus. LUK 24:4 And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments: LUK 24:5 And as they were afraid, and bowed down {their} faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead? LUK 24:6 He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee, LUK 24:7 Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the THIRD DAY RISE AGAIN. *** NOT AFTER THE THIRD DAY *** ************************************************** LUK 24:8 And they remembered his words, LUK 24:9 And returned from the sepulchre, and told all these things unto the eleven, and to all the rest. LUK 24:10 It was Mary Magdalene and Joanna, and Mary {the mother} of James, and other {women that were} with them, which told these things unto the apostles. LUK 24:11 And their words seemed to them as idle tales, and they believed them not. LUK 24:12 Then arose Peter, and ran unto the sepulchre; and stooping down, he beheld the linen clothes laid by themselves, and departed, wondering in himself at that which was come to pass. LUK 24:13 And, behold, two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was from Jerusalem {about} threescore furlongs. LUK 24:14 And they talked together of all these things which had happened. LUK 24:15 And it came to pass, that, while they communed {together} and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them. LUK 24:16 But their eyes were holden that they should not know him. LUK 24:17 And he said unto them, What manner of communications {are} these that ye have one to another, as ye walk, and are sad? LUK 24:18 And the one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answering said unto him, Art thou only a stranger in Jerusalem, and hast not known the things which are come to pass there in these days? LUK 24:19 And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people: LUK 24:20 And how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death, and have crucified him. ************************************************** LUK 24:21 But we trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed Israel: and beside all -------------- this, to day is the third day since these things ------------------------------------------------- were done. ---------- ************************************************** LUK 24:22 Yea, and certain women also of our company made us astonished, which were early at the sepulchre; LUK 24:23 And when they found not his body, they came, saying, that they had also seen a vision of angels, which said that he was alive. LUK 24:24 And certain of them which were with us went to the sepulchre, and found {it} even so as the women had said: but him they saw not. LUK 24:25 Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken: LUK 24:26 Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory? LUK 24:27 And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself. LUK 24:28 And they drew nigh unto the village, whither they went: and he made as though he would have gone further. LUK 24:29 But they constrained him, saying, Abide with us: for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent. And he went in to tarry with them. LUK 24:30 And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed {it}, and brake, and gave to them. LUK 24:31 And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight. LUK 24:32 And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures? 1CO 15:3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 1CO 15:4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: **************************************************** *** Commentary: It is obvious the word of God leaves some doubt as to which day He was crucified. IT HAS BEEN MY EXPERIENCE WHEN THE WORD IS NOT EXPLICIT IMPORTANT so I feelthe exact day is not relevant. What is relevant is the fact that the Christian Establishments through the ages have perverted this Holy Event into yet another Pagan holiday. What we should realize is that our King is the King of the Jews and the Holy days established by God are the days we are to recognize. Yehsua was Crucified AT THE TIME OF Passover, as our sacrifice for God delivering us from bondage, the bondage of Sin and Death. If we wish to remember the crucifiction and Ressurection we should Keep the Passover. The word Easter is not a Christian name. Not unlike many of our so called beleifs this holiday came from the Roman Emperor who took the Pagan hoildays and gave them Christian Names. The only time the word Easter is found in the King James version is in acts 12:4. This word was miss- translated from the original Greek from the word `Pascha' wich means Passover. The Encyclopedia states Easter's origin to be from the the name `Ishtar' which came from the word `Astharte' which came from the name Semiramis which was the wife of Baal, the king of Babylon. Semiramis we know to be the mother of Tammuz which is the pagan's death we worship on Dec 25. See tract # 17 who says Christmas is wrong? The Easter egg is also a pagan custom and is not found anywhere in the bible. ALL OF THESE CUTOMS CAN BE TRACED BACK TO BABYLON, EASTER IS A SPRING FESTIVAL IN SEMIRAMIS HONOR. Revelation warns us to beware of Babylon the mother of abominations. 1co 5:7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us. See tract # 104 Passover
